What comes first to your mind when you hear the word Sunday? For some, it would be to enjoy it to the fullest as it’s the last day of the weekend, and while many people have Pre-Monday anxiety and thoughts about going back to work.
I personally have bittersweet thoughts about it. I always want to do some productive things on Sunday and the other hand, I want to relax and spend some joyful time. And so I have made a list of 14 things to do on Sunday which are fun and productive so you can de-stress yourself and also have a better and productive week ahead.
Okay, Let’s get on the list!
14 Fun And Productive Things To Do On Sunday
#1. Start Your Day Slow
I like Sundays for this reason. I am a routine keeper and my morning routine includes waking up early and that I love. But usually, I don’t do this on Sunday instead I tend to wake up a little late and take things slow.
You don’t have to jump on things on Sunday Mornings. Take your time. Have coffee or tea and enjoy every sip of it. Make your delicious breakfast and catch on to some good books to read. Enjoy every bit of that Sunday morning.
#2. Exercising/ Stretching
You gotta move that amazing body of yours to be healthy and to take care of your body. If you don’t get time on weekdays to exercise, hit the gym on Sundays or do a home workout. Put on a lively music playlist and move your body.
Or just out your yoga mat and do some light stretching. You will feel so light and amazing.
#3. Cleaning Out Fridge And Restocking it.
Sunday is the best day to clean out the fridge if you usually don’t do it on other days. Spend 20-30 minutes to check and toss out the expired food. Clean out the shelves and make sure everything is organized.
Once you have cleaned your fridge it’s time for restocking it. Plan out next week’s meals and go grocery shopping and load up everything accordingly. This saves so much time.
#4. Organizing Closet
It’s time for your wardrobe now!! Have a look in your closet. What’s there that you don’t use anymore? What do you need to remove? What do you need to purchase? How can you make more space?
Don’t we all love neat and organized closets?
In the meantime, you can also plan out the outfits for the next week too after having a look at the weather. So you don’t have to take the stress on weekday mornings.
#5. Pursuing Your Dream
Do you have a passion for something but you are neglecting that because of your jobs and work then consider it doing on Sundays? Weekday’s time constraints always hold us back from doing what we love but Sundays can be a great day to pursue what you love.
Maybe you wanna start a blog or wanna start selling something online. Or you love arts or you wanna learn something new. You can do whatever you want on Sunday. One thing I have learned that When you will follow what your heart wants you will feel happy and satisfied
#6. Doing Some Self-care
Constant working in packed schedules can affect our physical and mental health. Squeeze out time on Sundays and dedicate it to doing self-care. You need to relax on Sunday to have a better start for next week. Have a spa day, give yourself manicures, put on that face mask, take Relaxing baths, Apply a hair mask.

Grab your 30 day self care challenge and a free tracker- It’s time to take care of yourself, honey!
#7. Watch Funny Movies and Videos
Laughter has so many benefits and it’s a healthy way to overcome stress. According to research, Laughter therapy is a non-pharmacological alternative treatment for stress and depression. Select some funny movies to watch or even any videos of your favorite stand-up comedians. Enjoy it with your favorite meal and relieve your stress.
I encourage you to do this thing on Sundays if you always have stressful and overwhelming weekdays.
#8. Head Outside.
If you work in the office for more hours and rarely go outside then you should head outdoors on Sundays. It’s important to connect with nature, breathe fresh air, enjoy the cool breeze and have a look at all the beauty around you and Sunday is a perfect day for it.
Just go for a walk in the nearest garden, get some sunlight, check out what’s new in your town or treat yourself a coffee in the nearest coffee shop
#9. Make A Photo Wall
It’s time to take a trip down memory lane. Scroll through old pictures, go through some photo albums, collect all the photos you love, and remind you of certain experiences. Print out some photos and make a photo wall. Arrange the photos and decorate the wall and here you go, you have your photo wall gallery.
You can make a vision photo wall too. For this find some inspirational quotes or pictures which resonate with your dreams like your favorite job, workplace, dream vacation, or car, and the ideas are endless. Choose whatever you prefer!
#10. Make A Room For Meditation
After a hectic week, sometimes our mind becomes cluttered. Meditation is the best way to declutter our minds and to understand our thoughts. Just a few minutes of meditation in silence brings so much clarity in thoughts, it also sparks creativity and increases focus which is much needed as we step forward towards a new week.
Try to carve out a calm meditation space, Where you find your peace and place is soothing enough to help you relieve your stress.
#11. Spend Time With Loved One
It’s necessary to take care of yourselves on weekends but it’s equally important to spend time with your loved ones. Take out some time to watch movies with your family or have a chit-chat with them. Visit your friends or family in the town whom you have not met for a long time. Call your parents, friends or any special person if visiting or spending time with them is not possible.
#12. Start Gratitude Journaling
Expressing gratitude has changed my life’s perspective. This small habit can have an amazing impact on your life too. Showing gratitude has so many benefits. There is so much good in your life and you can find this by starting gratitude journaling and with the help of gratitude journal prompts. On Sunday night reflect on the past week and write about all the good moments you are grateful for!
#13. Planning For The Next Week
Planning for the next week can help you to stay organized and sane. Have a moment and reflect on the last week. What were your important goals? Did you achieve it? What is that you have to push off to next week?
Make a list of important goals you have to knock off the next week. And also a to-do list that will help you to stay productive the whole week so you don’t waste your time and start an action from Monday.
#14. Unplug And Enjoy The Moment
Nowadays, there is so much competition and social interactions which affect the quality of life. People are on social media all the time and consuming so much news, pieces of information, toxicity. In all that chaos, we forget to slow down and think of our mental health.
That’s why take a pause from social media, turn off all the notifications and live in the moment. Try to avoid using social media on Sundays. If you are spending time with family enjoy that precious moment, if you are doing anything for yourself BE IN THAT MOMENT. You can get back to your social life on Mondays.
That was the list of things to do on Sunday from my side. What is that one thing you do on Sundays? How do you like to spend your Sundays?
As said earlier, I like to spend it in a mixture of both productive and relaxing!

These are awesome ideas – I’m such a planner that I spend a good chunk of my Sunday planning meals, upcoming goals, and projects for the week ahead! A nice bubble bath is also one of my favourites on a Sunday, although in this heat I haven’t been keeping with that routine as much! Thanks for sharing.

That’s an awesome routine! Thank you for stopping by x
The past couple of Sunday’s I have started the day with workout and I really have enjoyed starting my sundays like that. These are great suggestions.
Absolutely sometimes I only get time on weekends for workouts and I feel energized after that!
I love to use Sundays as a day to get through some chores and reorganizing closets/fridges etc. It’s nice to start the week knowing that things feel clean and refreshed. But also try and include some socializing or self care. That way I can know I’ve had some time for myself before a stressful week starts.
That’s great! I also like to organize things on Sundays so I can get through the week swiftly and keep the focus on work only.
These are such lovely things to do on a Sunday. Whenever I have a day off work I try to slow my routine down now and it feels like such a treat. Great post!

Good to know this! Thank you xx
Planning. That is the first thing that comes to mind when hearing the word Sunday. 😅 I really need to balance relaxing with productivity.
I need to focus on number six and have some self-care time. Heading outside before a hectic, tech-filled workweek would be a good idea for me. Number thirteen is my cup of tea, but I need to balance it with other things you have mentioned in this blog post.
Thank you for sharing fourteen fun and productive things to do on a Sunday. I think I need to slow down on Sunday and not just focus on the week ahead. 😊
Absolutely. take out time for yourself. Indulge in some self-care!! Glad to know that you enjoyed this post. Thank you😊
I definitely need to unplug and enjoy more on Sundays. Sometimes I just find it being another day of the work week, but you really do have to slow down and recharge you batteries. Self care and love are so very important.
Yess that’s the point. Work is important but so is self-care. Thank you for stopping by!
I’m assuming some of these suggestions aren’t to be done every single Sunday? Feels like it’d be weird to sort out your closest or making a photo wall every Sunday, still, great suggestions nonetheless
of course not! These are just ideas that can be considered to do on Sunday. Thank you!
I love that your list not only includes options that promote self-care and relaxation but also productive ideas as well! Great balance! I usually like to be productive during the day and relax during the evening. Also, thanks for the reminder that I need to clean my fridge! Lovely post, thanks for sharing!
Glad to know that you enjoyed the post!Thank you for commenting 🙂
Some good suggestions here. Sunday is always my day off, so no work is done on Sunday. It’s usually a self care day, exercise day, chilling and watching movies day for me x

Yes, I would always include sleep in my self-care routine! thanks for stopping by 🙂
I love Sundays because I work every other day of the week. I enjoy having the day off, although, I try to do blog work since I struggle to find time other days with my regular job. That means I need to find a way to balance relaxing with productivity and you listed some great ideas here. I appreciate the thought of starting the day slowly. Most days, I rush out of bed for whatever reason, and maybe I need to start taking it easy more and I will be more productive later on. This is a great post, thanks for sharing!
Hope you start your day slow on Sundays from now onwards and have enough relaxation. Though sometimes it is really difficult because when we have side hustles, Sunday is the only day to work more on it but finding the balance is the key. Glad to know that you liked the post!
