10 Work From Home Tips To Become More Productive
Are you planning to work from home? Well, today we all are bound to work from home only. After March 2020, it is almost a global routine.Â
Although, working from home affords many benefits to increase performance, business continuity, and achieve greater work-life balance.
Some people feel more comfortable at home than working from their office. But sometimes it also becomes so difficult due to working in pajamas, we feel so lazy. In this way, we cannot complete our goals and daily tasks.
It doesn’t matter whether you are a working professional, online business owner, or just a student, productivity matters for all.
So, in this article, I will give you some tips to work from home and how to manage things to increase your productivity all day.
#1. Creating a schedule
This hack is my favorite because mostly I couldn’t follow a strict schedule daily. But I will tell you a creative way to improve your productivity and performance all day to work from home.
Firstly, just write down whatever you want to do for that day. Remember, to write all your tasks in a point-wise manner.
Now, you have to find out the most productive time of the day. Then, pick your most difficult task and try to finish it in that time only.
For example, if I woke up at 7 am, my most productive time would be from 11 am to 12 pm. I will try to complete my most difficult task in that period of time.
But what is the benefit of this?
By finishing your most difficult task in the most productive time, you will only be left with the tasks that can be easily finished in the rest of the day. So, in this way, you feel fresh, happy, and motivated to do more work all day.
#2. Make a to-do list
It is the most important thing because if you make a to-do list then you would be able to track what are the tasks you have in your hand. And this will make you more focused on your work.
So, make a to-do list in a point-wise manner and just mark it for things you are getting done.
If you want you can also make a daily planner. If you don’t want to make you can just buy a Canva Template Daily Planner online.
Studies have also shown that by making a to-do list or a daily planner, your productivity will increase by up to 20%. So, just try it!
#3. Keep your working space clean
I have seen this many times that whenever I see messy things around me, I get so distracted that I cannot focus on one thing.
Whenever I have so many things around me apart from my laptop and notebook, I cannot focus.
The study has proven that if we have things cluttered around us, it also affects our mind and we cannot able to focus on a single task. So, I strongly recommend that don’t mess up things around you. Just try to make it as clean as possible.
#4. Avoid multitasking
I know that you have heard a lot of times that multitasking is bad, it is not good for focusing. Then, yes it’s true that multitasking can never improve your focus to work from home.
As our lives continue to get busier, many of us look for ways to multitask so that we can get more work to be done.
Technology has made multitasking so easy, but unfortunately, constant multitasking can lead to memory problems and it can deteriorate your focusing abilities. This is also not surprising, these side effects can prevent you from focusing on one project or task long enough to fully complete it.
So, I suggest you stop multitasking at any cost.
#5. Use google calendar
Using Google Calendar is a smarter decision to use technology for benefit.
I believe that Google calendar is an amazing tool to increase your productivity to work from home.
One of the best and my favorite advantage of Google Calendar is its sharing abilities. You can share the calendar with your family members, friends, and others to keep track of meetings, appointments, birthdays, etc.
By using Google Calendar, you can quickly schedule official meetings from home and events and get reminders about upcoming activities.
It helps me in reminding my tasks like checking my email lists, my messages, etc. I sometimes forget to check these things.
So, Google Calendar has drastically improved my focus and productivity at home.
Unlike any other application you install on your phone, Google Calendar is far better than all of those.
#6. Don’t work in pajamas
If you are working in pajamas you are killing your productivity. Some people might think “working from home” means that you can work in any outfit.
Wrong! Our mind works in a way like if we prepare ourselves like we are going to the office, it would be more focused.
Otherwise, your mind can easily distract you from binging on Netflix to other things.
It doesn’t matter whether you are working from home or office, always wear neat and clean clothes, if you are a girl, you can wear your makeup.
Don’t just let your mind trick you that you are not working from home.

#7. Take short breaks
Productivity doesn’t mean that you work all day long in front of your computer. If you are not taking any breaks then you are not doing good for your overall health at all.
Taking short-short breaks between your work and activity is a must.
You can take a 5-5mins break every half an hour. In that break, you can drink water, you can do stretching. Just do those activities that keep your mind fresh all day.
#8. Listen to calm music
Music is therapy!
And you can use music to improve your productivity as well. You can listen to calm music which soothes your body and mind.
Depending on the type of your work, it helps to turn on some background music. Since you’re working from home, you don’t want it too loud or distracting so that you can’t do your work— just ensure that makes you feel better.
#9. Exercise daily
Exercising is a most important activity that you can’t ignore to work from home. As you already know that this habit can do wonders.
You don’t need to exercise for one hour long, just 15-20 minutes daily workout would be enough.
While working from home we have to sit in front of our computer screens that deteriorate our health. That’s why it’s super important to have a separate time for exercising daily.
Exercise naturally boosts the level of endorphins, which increases productivity, happiness, enjoyment, and interest levels, all of which are important for productivity.
So, don’t forget to exercise daily.
#10. Give yourself rewards
It is an easy way to help you get things done because by giving rewards even the things you have been procrastinating or putting off.
For example, take a five-minute break to go for a stroll through your neighborhood, grab a healthy snack, take your dog to the park down the street. Once you finish a necessary business call, switch over the laundry.
So, last but not least, to be productive to work from home you need to follow the above-mentioned tips.
Once you start to follow these tips you will feel more productive and focused to work from home.

I literally could not LIVE without google calendar 🤣 Working from home was a huge change for me, and there was definitely a learning curve. I found that MAKING myself set “work hours” was the most impactful thing that I could do. It forced me to step away from my computer at 4:00, and focus on myself and my family!
Totally agreeing! Balancing between work and personal life is important.
I do most of these and I work from home full-time and I’m pretty productive more often than not, so I guess they work!
That’s awesome!
There are some great tips here. I’m big on to do lists and really feel like they help with my productivity. I’m not surprised they help by 20%. I struggle working whilst listening to music, my husband swears by it, but for me it just doesn’t work unfortunately.

Music sometimes works for me, sometimes not! But it does helps me to relax down.
Having a schedule is so important to me! It’s easy to make to-do lists, but it’s another thing to actually plan out when to do something and how to get everything done. Google calendar can definitely be helpful, although I learned I prefer physical planners! Thanks for sharing!
So true! I also prefer physical planners more but digital planners are also a good option. Thanks for reading.
Such great tips! I really do believe the point of not wearing pajamas when working. I try to follow my same routine as when I was going to the office by taking a shower and getting dressed at the same time in the morning as when I was going to the office. Now, it is just my routine that gets my day started since I don’t believe that I am ever going to see my office again. Thanks for the post!
That’s good. The dressing and routine do matter for increasing productivity. Thanks for commenting!
